OHS Art Review 2013

This year I enjoyed seeing the evolution of the artists, especially the graduates of 2013 who have spent the last 4 years on display. The "Lotus Flower" presented by Miss. Pena instantly captured the attention of the viewers. The students of Orange are very talented. I enjoyed the work of Shaun Mcrimmon, Nathan Hutchinson, Miss. Santana, Keschensa Theus and Miss. Katrina, who explained to me her sculpture of the gargoyle. Thanks to the Art Department for a job well done. So what are your thoughts on the art show?

  1. The art show was incredible. I have never been in a mouth-opening experience as I did today, walking across the gym admiring drawings and artworks of other students. By far, some drawings I saw today have been the best art I have come across so far. Take for instance the paper sculpture of a flower that had been multicolored. This piece of art drew my attention most because despite being an art that could be admired from the peak of a living room, it seemed to me that the object could hold smaller materials like a keychain, cell phone, wallet, and other carry-on substances that are usually placed on table tops. I am very pleased with the students who are responsible for the arts because I know it takes time and determination to create such masterpieces.

  2. Orange High School students have outdone themselves again as they always do when it comes to the arts. The art show which had on display the incredible art works of the students was truly awe inspiring and breathtaking. From the spray painting artworks, the ceramics and sculptures to all the drawings and paintings, one could see that the students put forth a lot of dedication and hard work to bring their art to life and to have them communicate with the audience in whatever way one can imagine possible. Not only did the art, especially the paintings make you feel as though you were part of them, but some of them put you in a calm and serene atmosphere. The arts of the students were that amazing, and trust that if the money was in abundance, every piece of art that was up for auction would have been bought!

  3. All of the artists that had their work displayed in the gymnasium did an impeccable job. From a person that doesn't enjoy viewing artwork due to the fact that it lacks interest, the art exhibit instantly changed ones' perspective. The paintings, drawings, ceramics and designs that were created were all exceptional because it definitely spoke to the audience. Furthermore, even though everything that was made- dream catchers, eggs, masks, skateboards, shoes, outfit, etc were all so good, the pieces of art that was the cherry on top of the cake were the paintings of the actual students at Orange High School. Those paintings were really refined, detailed, precise and twisted; it brought humor to the piece of art and skill. All of these artists were so good, that this year it is worth saying that they can definitely compete with professional artists in the country. Their work was mind blowing and if there were price labels on them, they would've all been gone by the end of the day. A terrific job was done by these students and they should keep up the good work.

  4. The art that was in the show was beautiful. Each piece was unique and differentiated each artist. I especially liked the work of Shaun Mcrimmon, whose drawing of Tupac was breath taking. It was done in pencil and the shading was done perfectly. The work of the other artists show how much potential they have and a how much work they put towards their piece. This art show was a job well done and I hope they keep up the good work.

  5. The art exhibition in the gymnasium was outstanding! The pieces were amazing and each was unique. The details were so perfect, the paintings were extraordinary. I was surprisingly amazed by the canvas painting of a rose. This rose looked very lively the detail was so mind blowing which made me stand there baffled by its beauty. All the artists did a great job I was really happy to see that many students participated and put the name of Orange High School above expectations. Being an artist isn't just drawing or painting it requires hard work and dedication as well as inspiration and patience which lets us as viewers know that many students in our school have those qualities and deserve recognition for their efforts.

  6. The art show was breathtaking! The students put a lot of time and effort into their art pieces and it showed. I was surprised with what I saw at the art show, because I didn’t expect that high school students would produce a beautiful art work that is usually seen in well-known art galleries. The paintings and drawing were full of emotion and passion, each and every piece told its own story. The sculpture, ceramic, and fashion designs were also very detailed, beautiful and creative. The art show clearly shows the potential of the students, and their dedication to their art pieces. I have to say that I am very proud of all of the students that contributed to the arts show, and I am also honored to go to the same school with incredibly talented artists.

  7. The art show was wonderful. This school have so many hidden talent and through the art show they were able to shine in the only way they know how. It shocked me to find out the true quality of some of my own friends work. Although they showed work from the classes as well as personal workings, everything there was beautiful. I especially was amazed by the scratch art, it was like finding a great wonder of the world. To be able to just take any type of material whether it's made to be created into a piece of art or just every day materials, it's astonishing to believe that you could really make something look good with the right creativity and steady hand. The art show at Orange High School's gymnasium really opened my eyes to what true talent really is.

  8. The art show was wonderful. One could easily tell that a lot of time and hard work was exhausted to make the ambiance so beautiful. I especially enjoyed the scratch art and the paintings, but I had a great fascination with the piece that featured Marilyn Monroe. It contained different news paper articles and had a lovely finishing image of her. Although all the pieces of art was great overall, I also found myself breathless at the sight of an unnamed painting by Miss. S. Pena's. The art show was an amazing experience.
