Do you think that people can be born evil or do you think that environment is responsible for a person's personality? (as you respond you can not state that you agree with a previous post without adding vital information to demonstrate your individual knowlwdge and understanding)
I think that the environment can be responsible for a person's personality because many people grow up in households that are not the best which may cause someone to become evil. Like many psycho paths you see on the news tend to grow up in abusive households which causes them to grow up and take their anger out on the world. - Johaunna
ReplyDeleteI think the environment is responsible for a person's personality because as a child you're still learning what's right and what's wrong which mold what type of adult you will become. For example if a child is raised to believe that racism is okay, then they're going to believe that for the rest of their lives and form into adults that are racist.

I think that the environment is responsible to a person's personality because the person is being grown up by the people and the things they do they see around them and the way people act around will most likely reflect them in the future especially its the people from his family.
ReplyDeleteBoth. It can be a learned thing or something you are born with. For instance, some people may be unloved or treated badly and it shapes who they become. But there are other people who are sociopaths and their brains aren't pure; even when they were babies. -Biancia
ReplyDeleteIt can be both, but more so based from the enviroment you live in. A good example would be the character, Michael Myers, who is a psycopath in the Halloween movie series. Since he was raised in a harmful enviroment around his family, he naturally became a serial killer. If raised in a more peaceful enviroment, then he would've turned out much differently, instead of using killing as an outlet for his anger.-Shaun
ReplyDeleteThe act of evil in a human being, is very much the consequence of a harmful environment. The reason being, when you are first born, you have no knowledge of what is around you. As the brain develops, a person can learn evil things such as killing, and stealing is good by watching someone kill and steal throughout their entire lives. If they see only pure things throughout their lives such as feeding and clothing others who have nothing, that person is more likely to live a pure and righteous life.

It is impossible to be born evil because, as Nichelle stated, you are born without prior knowledge of the world; it's like going to a new school, you know nothing about it. We listen to the guidance of adult figures when we are younger and attribute the characteristics of our peers. Scientists say that a child's mind is like a sponge so if he/she is taught evil, they will believe it is good.
ReplyDelete- I don't believe that you are ever born evil , I believe that the environment influence to be either bad or good. If you're born in a place that involve bad influences, then you're going to be taken in that influence. Remember, once we are born, we don't know what is good or bad(evil). People teach you and you just learn from it.
ReplyDeletei believe that the environment can be responsible for a person's personality AND that you can be born evil. Lack of money, affection, and/or a traumatic childood are all conributing factors that can shape a person's personality...among others. However, there are cases in which people are born evil...they're not affected by society or plagued with some strange mental disorder (in which case there would be an exception), they're just naturally evil. Likewise, the argument that "children are taught evil, not born evil" can't be used because from the very beginning, we're born siiners. Young as they are, children have to be told NOT to lie, NOT to be selfish, NOT to be hit others. You can teach them Not to do those things, but no one taught them HOW to do those things in the first place. They are BORN with those qualities. If we were good and pure and innocent as stated in previous comments, wouldn't we already know not to do those things? So human beings are born evil...not to say that all of them ARE, but some are born with the "gene". The majority of us grow up and live life the best way we can. Others...not so much. I mean, just look at Cathy.
ReplyDeleteI honestly think that everyone is born, not deterministically 'good' or 'bad', but with the potential to perform behaviours that society finds ethically reprehensible - in the right situation anyone can be a thief, a liar, a hypocrite or a murderer. But also everyone - ignoring for a moment those with conditions that preculde an identity of self - is born with the potential to behave alturistically.I think that as a person goes through life crises and events a personality changes. A person would have to live in a vacuum to not be affected in someway by the events that they participate in. A outgoing person who experiences a great deal of tragedy may become quiet and introspective. An individual who is shy as a child may become outgoing and gregarious as they become to participate in more activities during school and their esteem increases.

i believe that humans are originally evil. regardless of our good intentions that are accompanied with good actions; humans will always conjure devious thoughts in the privacy of our minds. Its an obvious excuse to put it in the hands of our environment; mere human nature to blame every other element than themselves. Yes, we are influenced by aspects in our lives but deeming yourself a good person simply states that you are evil enough to flower yourself with perfection. In this way; you still fail to be the "good" person you want to be. Our environment is there to show us a better or worse way. We do not have to fall to the negative aspects of our surroundings, yet so many of us end up in prison for committing evil actions towards others. Essentially, no one is ever born with the great minds they have now, so it would be silly to assume that we can arrive out the womb a honest, perfect being.
ReplyDeleteI think that people can be born evil even though the environment is responsible for a person's personality. Some people react differently. A person has two boundaries,to establish good contact with others and the world, and to try to reach out and discover own boundaries.People were not born with the mind set to be a evil person, they would have to had seen or experience things which make them want to do evil.
ReplyDeleteBoth. Some people are born with psychological disorders that could make them that way, while others are traumatized in some way, shape, or form that would make them become evil later in life.
ReplyDeleteI dont think people could be born evil because when you come into this world you have no clue what your going in for. I do believe the environment is responsible for a person's personality because who ever you group yourself around is what you will start to become.
